Life cycle of a Sunrise in Color.

I saw a sunrise come into being this morning.
It does not start out the
robins egg blue and cotton candy pink
of its childhood.
It wasn't the bright orange, fuchsia
and purples of its prime.
It wasn't the wispy white clouds that appear
as a sunrise nears the end of it's time.

The birth of a sunrise begins with smudgy slate blue clouds
floating on a milky blue-white horizon.
The color of a newborns eyes.
The color that takes a mothers breath away.
And makes her ask,
Who are you?
The color that answers,
I am an old soul.
