Sunday morning coffee

Bean Crazy is a local coffee shop here in town. Lycra man stops here every morning on his way to work.

On Sunday mornings we both go and visit with Lycra mans Ham radio friends,,,guess he is radio head on those days, he is multifaceted, is Lycra man...

 It's the kind of place where the barista knows your name, and remembers what kind of coffee you like. 

It's also the kind of place...if the chair leg is wobbly, then..the retired pilot, software developer, and biochemist, will search through the tool box...

debate the proper tool to use for such an operation,

and fix said wobbly leg...

Trip to the Feed store and the Beach in Ventura CA

I travel to a feed store in Ventura to buy the feed for my rabbits. Today I asked a coffee lady friend if she would like to come, here are some of the more interesting things we found in the gift store attached to the feed store..

 After procuring bunny food ...we stopped off at the beach.

We are having high tides, called  King tides. King tides occur when the Earth is in alignment with the sun and the moon, pulling the oceans to their gravitational limits. So there were a lot of surfers.

See the snow on the hills? It was cold, but a beautiful day.

Enraptured with Raptors and a shore bird in a bare tree.

I have learned to pay attention to the crows when I take my walks in the park. If they are squawking and wheeling and dive bombing, then some sort of interesting critter is present. Sometimes it is Wile E Coyote, looking rather miffed that his stealthy cover has been blown buy the annoyingly loud birds.

Toady it was a snowy egret, sitting in the top of a tree! I didn't know they could sit in tress...don't know why it never occurred to me ,but it didn't.

Across the park, a second group of crows was diving at an oak tree, such behavior I have learned means raptor...usually a hawk, and it was...

These crows are driving me nuts, would you leave already so I can fly???

and that is what he did when I started to walk away with the squawking crows following in his wake.

Eureka! I've struck Gold...Lesser Goldfinch that is.

This is me, today in my driveway...

Why? Well, the wind stopped blowing and some little feathered friends were way up in the tree...It was the moment of truth..was the new camera purchase worth it ...is the zoom lens strong enough to get the little fellers????? ( I probably gave it away with the snoopy happy dance opening, didn't I?)

History of Hank...so far.

Well, the wind is still blowing so no new critter pictures from the park. I do have some Hank critter pictures. As I mentioned yesterday, I have a new camera...did the software up load, down load what ever it is, and of course messed it up somehow...it moved or copied all of my images to a new file...opens them up randomly when I turn on the computer,  this one popped up yesterday....

I guess you can see things besides Hanks size have changed in the last 4 years. We had the wallpaper taken off carpets torn up, walls taken out, all when Hank was about 6 months old and it has scarred him for life, I am not kidding for him, car door slamming+ doorbell= hours of loud continuous noise. To this day if he hears a car door slam he growls, if the door bell rings he growls and hides under the bed...poor little, I mean , big guy...

Well, someday soon the wind will stop blowing and I will figure out the software ( more likely Lycra man will figure it out) it won't open up to down load photos from the camera...have to do a Jenean inspired convoluted work around...hey it works...
